The recent extremely bipolar weather in HK has got me thinking about how serious climate change is, and it really is mind boggling that some people still believe that it's a hoax.
I recently learned that the fashion industry is actually the number 2 biggest polluter in the world. I've become more and more aware of what sustainability means since I stared my fairtrade and organic brand Basics for Basics and I wanted to share my thoughts.
I've learned that ultimately it is us consumers that control what the big companies produce. If we want cheaper clothes, they will cut salaries. If we want more options faster, workers get horrible hours and bad working conditions.
I have started in this year to live more sustainably. To buy less, to slowly stop shopping fast fashion and also to eat less meat. Little efforts made in our daily lives really can make a difference and I hope that more and more people will understand that.
I will start sharing my habits and introducing brands or platforms that are doing awesome work regarding sustainable fashion! So stay tuned! x
