For the longest time I've avoiding my best to shoot weddings because I always felt I was never ready. It's honestly pretty scary to be asked to capture a wedding and huge respect to photographers who do! @roundtablestudiosmy shot our last wedding of the year in 2020 with Daniel and Evelyn and I remember being extremely nervous the night before. It turned out just right in the end. Nothing was rushed and it was just plain fun to shoot! More than anything, it made me remember that images that you're most proud of happen when you enjoy the process. Hopefully 2021 will give way more opportunities for us to document weddings (and maybe finally achieve my dream of shooting a wedding entirely on film heh)!

Decided to try shooting with a film stock I found online called "Vibe 400". A quick Google search online and you'll realise there is hardly any information about where this film stock is made or what it looks like. But that's the fun of film right? My first solo wedding in awhile. David and Beatrice are a beautiful couple that had their wedding in an equally gorgeous location, Janda Baik in Malaysia. It was a smooth sailing day and hardly any hiccups. Such a treat an honour to film their wedding.

TECHNICAL ASPECT:
This was the first time shooting a full day video shoot with the Canon 1DX Mark iii. Wanted to step away from the whole "cinematic wedding" video and start developing a documentary style of wedding videos and I'm really happy with how everything turned out! Used a 24MM F1.4 ii, 35MM F1.4ii, 100mm F2.8 and 70-200 F2.8.
The whole piece felt much nicer when graded a little softer. Used Film Convert with a Kodak Portra 400 look. The camera performed very well but like all log footage, don't underexpose. Still wasn't fully well versed with the camera so I made some slight mistakes with white balance and exposure on a few shots. Overall very happy with the image quality and usability of the camera!
