One of the reasons why the Muslims were hurt during the Battle of Uhud was because a group of them did not listen and obey the commands of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. They were ordered to not desert their stations no matter what, but when this group saw the spoils of war, they went off to join in the looting. Their greed overtook their hearts and they chose this dunya rather than akhirah.

This is a lesson for us too, to not go for shortcuts especially when it means that we have to compromise our Deen and for us to always choose Akhirah over dunya. We also learn here that following the commands of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ only leads to goodness and success.
