400g thick yellow noodles (or flat yellow noodles)
200g sliced pork belly
⅛ tsp salt
¼ tsp cornflour
7 shrimp (shelled and deveined)
1 small squid (sliced)
50g fried crispy pork fat
4 cloves garlic (minced)
200g Beijing cabbage (roughly chopped)
150g mustard greens (cut into 5cm length, stem and leaf separated
4 tbsp dark caramel sauce
3 tsp light soya sauce, or to taste
3 tsp dried sole powder
Pepper to taste
1.5 cup chicken stock
5 tbsp pork lard

Who doesn't like hawker food? We all miss sitting down in a hawker centre or kopitiam to makan right? So I bought these amazing nice fishballs and kuey teow/flat rice noodles, and thought I should make the simpliest ikan bilis/anchovies broth as the soup base. This soup is so easy to make. My Poh Poh used to cook for us, especially on her busy days. It takes less than half an hour to be ready.
Ingredients :
- 2.5 litres water (or depending on your portion)
- 20 Fish Balls or chicken fillets or fish fillets
- 1 whole lettuce or any kind of vegetable
- Salt to taste
- White Pepper
- 2 tbs Oil
- 1 pack Kuey Teow noodles or any noodles
- Hand full of Ikan Bilis
Do cut some fresh chilis with soy sauce to serve with it.

Selamat pagi semua, excited bangun pagi ni sebab nak rasa tepung pelita yang dah sejuk menggigil dalam peti ais semalaman.
Alhamdulillah menjadi, sedap macam yang dijual di bazar. Saya paling suke bahagian hijaunya, manisnya thorbaikkk!
Ni saya sharekan resepi yg dah diubah sikit2 😊
VERSI TAK PERLU KUKUS, TAK PERLU DAUN PANDAN, GUNA APA ADA DIRUMAH SAHAJA ~
BAHAN HIJAU
- 1 cawan gula
- 1 cawan tepung beras cap apa sahaja selain 5 gajah
- 4 cawan air
- 1 sb pewarna hijau epal
Caranya : satukan semua dalam periuk, kacau dulu bagi sebati, masak dengan api sederhana sampai pekat. Terus masukkan panas2 dalam acuan kecil2 untuk makan.
BAHAN PUTIH
- 4/5 sb tepung beras
- 200-250 ml santan kotak
- 3 cawan air
- 1 sk garam
Caranya : sama seperti diatas. Bila dah pekat/ada buih besar meletup, blh tuang atas lapisan hijau. Tuang panas2. Dah siap.
TAMBAHAN
Blendkan 2 sudu gula pasir sampai jadi gula hancur. Tabur rata di setiap bekas sebelum letak bahan hijau. Jadi sedap bila gula tu cair bila acuan hijau yg panas diletak.
TIPS
Kacau berterusan. Jangan stop nanti berketul. Dalam 10-15 minit dah pekat dah. Total masa buat, lebih kurang 1/2 jam sahaja. Jom belajar buat, bazar kan takde tahun ni. Kena buat sendiri.

Good morning everyone, excited to wake up this morning because I want to taste the cold pelita flour in the fridge overnight.
Thank God it became, as delicious as the one sold at the bazaar. I love the green part most, the sweetness of thorbaikkk!
Here I share the recipe that has been changed a bit 😊
The Version of no need to be steamed, no need for pandan leaves, use what is at home only ~
Green material
- 1 Cups of sugar
- 1 Cups of rice flour any cap other than 5 Elephants
- 4 Cups of water
- 1 SB of apple green dye
The Way: unite all in the pot, stir it first, cook it with a simple fire until it's thick. Keep putting the heat in the small mold to eat.
White material
- 4/5 SB of rice flour
- 200-250 ml of coconut milk box
- 3 Cups of water
- 1 SK salt
The Way: same as above. When it's thick / there's a big bubble exploding, you can pour it on the green layer. Pour pour is done.
Extra
Blendkan 2 teaspoon of sugar until it becomes crushed sugar. Spread the flat in every container before putting the green ingredients. So it's delicious when the sugar melts when the hot green cast is put.
Tips
Disturb continues. Don't stop them later. In 10-15 minutes it's already thick. Total time of doing, about 1/2 hours only. Let's learn how to do it, there's no bazaar this year. Have to do it myself.

Dango Jiru or Dago Jiru is a Traditional dumpling soup from many prefectures in Japan. Depending on prefecture, it is called differently. For instance in Ōita it is called Dango Jiru and in Kumamoto it is called Dago Jiru, etc... The shape of dumplings differs from house to house. Some people take time to stretch out the dumplings into long Udon-like noodle shape. Some people make it into flat round shape. Some people just tear it into the soup. Moreover, some people put chicken and vegetables. Most people use Taro potato, Daikon radish, and Gobo (burdock root) but they are not a must. Please take it easy and try it out in the way you like!
Fun to make with kids as well 😉
FYI: You can use any Dashi product. I used this one.

How to Make Dango Jiru (Dumpling Miso Soup) Vegan Recipe
Difficulty: Easy
Time: 30min
Number of servings: 2~3
Ingredients
1 US cup (120g) all purpose flour
1/4 tsp. salt
1/4 US cup (60ml) water
200g (7oz.) potato (taro potato)
50g (1.7oz.) carrot
50g (1.7oz.) Shiitake mushrooms
2.5 US cup (600ml) water
5g (1&2/3tsp.) Dashi powder *I recommend RIKEN Kombu Dashi Powder https://amzn.to/31o8bx8
2 tbsp. Awase Miso
chopped green onions
Directions:
1. Let's make Dango first. Put flour and salt in a bowl. Add water little by little then mix well. Make a bite-size Dango (small flat round dumplings) then cover with damp cloth and rest while cutting vegetables.
2. Quarter slice potato. Half slice carrot. Remove the stems and slice Shiitake mushrooms.
3. In a large pot, put water and Dashi. Add vegetables and cook on medium for about 7 minutes until soft.
4. Add Dango and cook on medium for about 5 minutes until cooked through.
5. Stop the heat and add Miso (dilute with cooking liquid). Then cook for a few seconds (do not boil over) until hot.
6. Serve in a bowl and garnish with chopped green onions.

泰式海鮮炒河粉:
材料:
河粉半斤
蝦6隻
帆立貝6隻
帶子6隻
青口6隻
菜心100克
甘筍30克
調味料:
蒜蓉 )
麪豉醬 )
生抽 )
老抽 ) 各1茶匙
蠔油 )
糖 )
生粉 )
胡椒粉 )
處理:
1. 各款海鮮解凍後,用鹽乸5分鐘除雪味。
2. 預備少量青菜和甘筍。
3. 海鮮用鹽乸5分鐘後,清水沖乾淨,用廚紙索乾。
烹調:
1. 在鑊中燒熱1湯匙油。
2. 放河粉落鑊炒鬆,慢慢炒透河粉。
3. 轉慢火,加入1/2茶匙生抽及1/2茶匙老抽炒勻,放上碟。
4. 在鑊中燒熱大半湯匙油。
5. 放蒜蓉略炒一下。
6. 放所有海鮮在鑊中,加入菜心及甘筍。
7. 加入麪豉醬,轉慢火。
8. 預備300毫升水,將所有調味料(胡椒粉除外),加入水中開芡汁,攪勻。
9. 轉大火, 芡已煮滾,最後加入胡椒粉,炒勻,上碟。
Stir frying flat rice noodle with seafood in Thai style:
Ingredients:
Flat rice noodle 1/2 catty
Shrimps 6 Nos.
Japanese scallops 6 Nos.
Scallops 6 Nos.
Green mussels 6 Nos.
Choy sum 100g
Carrot 30g
Seasoning:
Garlic sauce )
Soy bean sauce )
Light soya sauce )
Dark soya sauce ) 1 tsp per
Oyster sauce ) each
Sugar )
Tapioca starch )
Pepper )
Preparation:
1. Season all seafood with cooking salt for 5 minutes after defrost removing unpleasant smells and tastes.
2. Prepare little choy sum and carrot.
3. Seafood has been seasoned with salt for 5 minutes. Rinse thoroughly and dry with kitchen towel.
Steps:
1. Heat up 1 tbsp oil in wok.
2. Fry well flat rice noodles.
3. Turn to low flame, add 1/2 tsp light soya sauce and 1/2 tsp dark soya sauce. Fry well then put on plate.
4. Heat up 3/4 tsp oil in wok.
5. Fry garlic sauce.
6. Put all the seafood as well as choy sum and carrot in wok.
7. Put soy bean sauce. Turn to low flame.
8. Get 300ml water ready. Mix all the seasonings (except pepper) in water well.
9. Turn to high flame, sauce has been cooked well. Fry well with pepper. Serve.
