When I first accepted the invitation to serve on the Families for Life Council, I did it because I truly wanted to contribute in whatever part I can for families in Singapore. So never in my wildest dreams did I expect to receive this year's Friends of MSF award.
I'm extremely humbled and honoured. Thank you for the chance to volunteer but the work is never ever done, especially in challenging times like these. Towards a more caring and kinder society! 😊
Happy to have spent Sunday morning helping to pack the Families for Life "Share-the-Care" basket, together with partners from People’s Association, Dads for Life, Mums for Life & National Library Board.
These past few weeks have seen families inevitably spending more time at home due to Covid-19. But as with all situations, there're teachable moments we can share with our kids too. Which why Families for Life have put together the FFL “Share-the-Care” basket, which comprises of games and craft activities that families can do together at home. More importantly, it includes ways to share our appreciation to the unsung heroes of Singapore, like the cleaners, security guards, bus drivers, etc - people beyond the frontline healthcare workers who still keep our country moving.

So I wrote a children’s story book.
It is about an ice cube who leaves the comfort of a freezer to journey across the world through sand and snow to find his idol-an iceberg. There is an awesome twist at the end!
I felt I needed to speak about this, this journey that is life and the human potential. And especially teach it to Jude early on, that his capabilities are only confined to his imagination. Credit to the awesome illustrator - Jade Fang who tirelessly worked on the way I wanted the book to present itself in my head and Candid Creation Publishing for publishing advice.
The children title has been picked for this years’ Singapore Writers Festival as well, and will debut on November 10th!!!

Dignity Mama (under Dignity Kitchen from Seng Choon Koh’s Project Dignity Singapore) provides caregivers and young adults with special needs purpose a real business they can operate together. The caregivers at Dignity Mama ( usually the Mothers of these young adults) really are the true ice bergs of their families and society.
These proceeds will help go into the creation of a new kiosk that can employ another Mother and her child to operate a business.
Each book retails for SGD20.
And I have 1000 books on hand for sale.
I hope you can help me buy a book ( or many) and collectively raise SGD20,000 for Dignity Mama.
Alternatively, for those who simply want to donate, I will still provide you a book(s) but will send it off to MSF Singapore who will donate it to the underprivileged children they work with. Just drop me a WhatsApp or PM.
These books will also be available for purchase directly at Dignity Mama outlets and also Dignity Kitchen.
On 10th Nov, do come down and visit Dignity Mama and I on that day. The young adults will be making special themed gifts to go along with your onsite book purchase. It will be a fun time!
