What a trip! Exploring uncharted waters in a nutshell. The banana boats (local small boats) guided us safely up the river... sometimes with nil UKC - under keel clearance and we have to jump in and drag the boats across mud instead. ⠀
Did i mention there are 🐊🐊🐊??⠀
There are sticks marking some of the logs/stumps under muddy water, but few of them we only know after we bumped 😅.
And thats how we reached one of the most remote village in PNG to provide healthcare. This boat ride took nearly 3 hours! ⠀

The most challenging part was the return trip because of the river current, thankfully our fearless bowman jumps down to make sure the boat faces the right way... most of the time. We did end up horizontal a few times 🤣
