The holidays cut short. When news came that Singapore was going to impose a 14-day-stay-home notice, we were having dinner on our second night in Club Med Bintan Island. We had to get back before 11:59pm the very next day.
The club helped us with the earlier return tickets and did everything they could for us to have a pleasant stay amidst the fears.
We tried not to show our worry but the kids felt it. Georgia told me she was scared and hugged me to sleep that night. (She usually goes to bed by herself, and rarely wants anyone else in her bed.)
We are home now and I tried to bury myself with work. But writing another email about online business opportunities feels hollow. Telling you how much fun we had at the resort (even though it’s true) feels pointless.
Because I know many questions are dominating your mind right now. And rightfully so.
The news is going nuts. There are more confirmed cases every day, more and more countries are going on lockdown, businesses are affected, and schools are closed.
What does it mean for us?
Is this the start of a recession?
What’s going to happen?
What’s everyone going to do?
What does this mean for our future, for our family, the market, our income... and when will it be over?
It doesn’t matter what we believe - whether you’re thinking the virus will get to everyone, or people are over-reacting. Or this is the end of the world. Or that we will be fine.
This is impacting us, our lives. Do you let fear consume you or are you going to rise above it?
Remember, as chaotic as it can seem during times like this, there are better things that we can focus on.
Is there an opportunity to offer your service? Yes.
Is there an opportunity to help your community? Absolutely. We need kindness now more than ever.
Are there opportunities in the business world? Definitely.
Let us be the role models for our children, our family and everyone around us. Let us help others navigate through these tough times.
