PoLin 柏霖 《Farewell 告別》Official MV

🔺第一支MV終於出來了🔻

Farewell is an original song composed by PoLin 柏霖. He wrote the lyrics with Alex Bristo. About the song he says, “I guess it’s a feeling every human being must go through at some point in our lives. A feeling that makes us grow somehow. Farewell is a song that means a lot to me.”

About the MV, he always wanted to introduce contemporary dance into his songs. Therefore connecting two groups of people who can appreciate both contemporary dance and the songwriting of the music at the same time.

He invited British video maker Kie Willis to be the MV director. Kie is a parkour celebrity in the UK, one of the top parkour runners, who has started to shift his career to filmmaking. UK based Japanese dance artist Fukiko Takase plays the role of the inner version of PoLin. Together they created concepts and choreography to translate the song into dance. Fukiko and PoLin formerly danced together in the world-class dance company, Company Wayne McGregor. Fukiko has danced with Thom Yorke(Radiohead) in the MV Atoms for Peace- Ingenue. She has also choreographed for a Japanese pop singer Utada Hikaru’s Forevermore MV, and was invited to Hikaru’s Japan tour as a solo dance artist.

ABOUT STSDS DANCE COMPANY (or SDC)

STSDS is pleased to offer an expanded pre professional program for students who are seriously exploring the possibility of a career in dance and/or performing arts. The program provides dancers the opportunity to refine their technical and artistic training while providing the necessary support and guidance to pursue a rewarding career in dance. These exciting and challenging classes require dedication and commitment from both the dancers and parents.

We are currently seeking for male and female dancers between the age of 7 and 24 interested in making a commitment to dance as well as a team for its current shows and upcoming creations.

AUDITION PREPARATIONS

Applicants will be required to perform a (minimum) 1-Minute choreography or freestyle in any genre during the audition (please prepare your music in mp3 formats on CD/MP3-players/iPod only).

Applicants should arrive warmed-up, in dance wear. Make-up is recommended. Bring a photo with resume, email address and contact numbers.

「胡導演給大家的首項功課，是把《金剛經》從頭到尾抄一次。抄寫是學習的其中一個方法，但收到指令後我郤在想，到底怎樣才可把過程變得不一樣。結果我買了本小小的寫生冊和幾枝白色水筆，有空就靜下來搬字過紙。白色墨水寫到白色畫紙上，文字像出現了但又隨即消失，就是墨水耗盡也不易察覺，因此有一段經文基本上有如紙刻。完成後逐頁翻看，一切似有還無，然而把畫冊迎著光線調到某個角度，每筆每劃都清晰可辨。創作大概也就是這樣一回事，每天所見所聞所觸所感，似有還無的儲在身體，就等那道光線那個角度的出現。」―黃大徽

新聞系畢業生，九十年代中於出版界變節，全身投入表演藝術，既舞且演亦編。
2004年獲香港藝術節委約創作《B.O.B.*》，首演後發展成兩個不同版本於歐亞九國巡演，當中包括巴黎的法國國家舞蹈中心，倫敦的沙德勒井劇院及柏林的八月國際舞蹈節等等。
2009年於東京完成的《1 + 1》，其後獲邀到巴黎卡地亞現代博物館及神戶國際舞蹈節演出。
2010年獲選為巴黎黑克雷國際文化交流中心駐村藝術家，並於巴黎城市劇院合辦的國際舞蹈大賽Danse Elargie中擔任評委。同年與日本編舞川口隆夫及電影導演今泉浩一聯合創作《Tri_K》，隨後三年於東京、神戶、金澤、香港、里斯本、貝洛奧里藏特及聖保羅巡演。
2011年獲德國In Transit國際藝術節委約，於柏林世界文化中心首演《Be Me》。
2012年，以進念。二十面體過去三十年事跡為題的首個劇場作品《0382》，於香港文化中心劇場面世。

“The first piece of homework Director Mathias Woo gave us was to copy the Diamond Sutra once. Copying is a way to of learning. But upon receiving such an instruction, I asked myself how I could make the experience uncommon. Finally I bought a little sketchbook and several white ink pens and, whenever I had time, copied all the words quietly and peacefully. When white ink was transferred onto white paper, what I had written down seemed to appear and then disappear immediately. Sometimes I even failed to discover that the pen had been out of ink and part of the scripture thus became paper sculpture. When I revised my writing after I had finished, I was a bit dubious about what I had done. But when light shone upon the sketchbook at a certain angle, every stroke of the characters became distinctly clear. The process, I guess, resembles that of producing a creative work. We are all dubious about what is seen, heard, touched and felt every day, hoping that a light will shine upon our hidden sense at the right angle.” ― Dick Wong

Performer: Dick Wong
A graduate in journalism, Dick Wong left the publishing industry in the mid 90s to pursue a career in contemporary dance and theatre.
In 2004, commissioned by the Hong Kong Arts Festival, he created B.O.B.*which was later developed into two versions touring renowned venues and festivals across Asia and Europe, including Paris' Centre National de la Danse, London's Sadler's Wells, Berlin's Tanz Im August and Singapore's Hua Yi Festival.
In 2009, he completed 1+1 in Tokyo. The work was later presented in Paris' Fondation Cartier and Kobe International Dance Festival.
In 2010, as a laureate of the French International Residence Program at Recollets, he was invited by Paris' Theatre de la Ville to be a member of jury at the international dance competition Danse Elarge. The same year he co-created Tri_K with Takao Kawaguchi and Koichi Imaizumi and in the following three years toured to Tokyo, Kobe, Kanazawa, Hong Kong, Lisbon, Belo Horizonte and San Paulo.
In 2011, commissioned by the In Transit Festival, he premiered Be Me in Berlin's Haus der Kulturen der Welt.
In 2012, he created 0382, an oral history theatre work examining the 30 years of existence of Zuni Icosahedron.

2020 IS CRAZY BUT "KEEP ON"

So far 2020 has been a difficult year but I want us to keep pushing forward breaking through all the “challenges” life have to offer.

【BIO】

TOMO (Tomoko Ishikawa)

Tomoko Ishikawa was born and raised in Tokyo, where she started her career as a dancer. She then moved to New York to find new inspiration. Tomoko has worked with various teachers and choreographers all over NYC.

She has performed for various artists such as Cardi B, Missy Elliott, French Montana, Remy ma, Ciara, Madonna, Lil Kim, and Backstreet Boys. Also She featured her self for Fashion brand “Converse” commercial.
Big studios in Asia has been inviting her for special workshops.

She was recently featured as the back up dancer for Lil Kim’s music video “GO OFF” and also TV show “POWER” with artist 50cent and snoop dog at Madison Square Garden. Also she performed with Cardi B at the Coachella festival and her own Tour.

東京出身。6歳からJAZZ、9歳からHIPHOPを始める。
22歳の時に日本からアメリカ・ニューヨークへ拠点を移す。
渡米わずか1年余りで、アメリカの音楽シーンを代表する女性ラッパー兼プロデューサー”Missy Elliott”のバックダンサーに抜擢。

現在、世界中で大ブレーク中のアーティスト”Cardi B”のバックダンサーとして、“Coachella 2018” “Fashion Nova × Cardi B”など数多くのショーに出演。

アメリカで爆発的な人気を誇るドラマ“POWER”のシーズン6プレミアイベントがマジソンスクエアガーデンで行われ、”50Cent” “Snoop Dogg”のダンサーを務めた。

“Madonna” “Lil Kim” “Fat Joe” “Remy Ma” “French Montana”“Back Street Boys” “Jonte’ Moaning” など数多くのメジャーアーティストのバックダンサーとして、ミュージックビデオ・ショー・コマーシャルなどで活躍中。

“Drake” や “Cardi B”など多くのアーティストのコレオグラファーとして活躍する“Soraya Lundy” が手がける”Banjo Twerk Team” というCrewに所属する傍ら、EXPG NYCでレギュラークラスを持ち、BDCやPeri Dance などでもレッスンを教えている。
海外からの人気も高く、ゲスト講師としてアジアなどにも呼ばれている。

小柄な外見とは打って変わり、ダイナミックでバイブス100%のダンススタイルと、彼女の太陽のように明るく熱い性格に、魅了されるダンサーも多く、アーティストの振り付け、特別ワークショップに招かれたりと、これからの活躍にますます目が離せない注目度ナンバー1ダンサーである。

《Farewell 告別》是PoLin柏霖的原創作曲，詞是在倫敦家裡客廳某個晚上與朋友Alex Bristo 一起寫的。由音樂製作呂康惟完成編曲。關於這首歌，他說：「這是我們每個人都會在人生某個時間點體驗過的感覺吧！這種感覺在某面向使我們成長，這首歌其實對我有很深層的意義。」

柏霖是一個英國台灣籍舞蹈藝術家，一直以來他非常積極希望能把他的舞蹈帶進他的MV裡面。 這次他請到英國影像製作導演Kie Willis 擔任這次音樂舞蹈影像的導演。Kie 他是英國的酷跑明星，也是世界排名前列的酷跑運動員；他目前正慢慢轉移重心到影像製作電影拍攝。他邀請到他的好朋友英國日本籍舞蹈藝術家Fukiko Takase 來飾演柏霖內心的自己。他們一起共同創作分享概念完成這支簡單又不簡單的音樂錄像。

Fukiko 和柏霖曾一起在世界級舞團Company Wayne McGregor 一起共事。Fukiko 曾在英國在一首Atoms for Peace- Ingenue MV 中與英國搖滾天團Radiohead 的主唱Thom Yorke 一起拍攝舞蹈音樂錄像。她也曾為日本歌手明星宇多田光編舞，並在宇多田光Forevermore 這首歌的音樂錄像中呈現。也曾經受邀到宇多田光日本巡迴演唱會擔任獨舞。
