A lot has happened in my life over the last 2 decades since I stopped school and started work at the age of 16.

I’ve had my share of lows - abusive relationships, wanting to give up on life entirely, unsuccessful ventures, failed business partnerships, debt, being sabotaged for jobs because of racial discrimination, wrong investment decisions, major health issues.

For more than 15 years, I worked an average of 18 – 21 hour days; sometimes with no sleep at all for 2 - 3 days in a row.

In frustration, I used to ask God, "Why me?"

But then I was reminded of His grace, blessings and the many miracles I experienced, in times of which I never once asked, "Why me?"

I learnt that hardships often prepare ordinary people for an extraordinary destiny (C.S.Lewis).

So today, if you feel like you’re about to break, I want to encourage you to push a little harder so you can breakthrough.

We all have the power to say, THIS IS NOT HOW MY STORY WILL END.

And I believe that we didn’t wake up this morning and got an extra day in our lives because we needed it. We got an extra day in our lives because someone out there needs us.

"My name is ___, and I love to___." When the spotlight hits your face, you PERFORM. No hesitation, no passing the buck. Or you might miss out on your biggest opportunity. Teach For Malaysia #TFMWeek at SMK Alor Pongsu

This was one of my favorite moments. We selected 5 of the shy-est students who had the most confidence issues, and in front of their friends, they imagined themselves as politicians in a political campaign. The rule was, they were only allowed to use the lyrics of Search's hit song Fantasia Bulan Madu as the words of their manifesto. Again, when the spotlight hits you, you PERFORM with all your might. I love them for giving it a go! #TFMWeek Teach For Malaysia
