Photobook ที่ได้แรงบันดาลใจจากทริปกลับบ้านเมื่อ 1 ปีที่แล้ว ผมสังเกตเห็นความน่าสนใจของสิ่งปกติธรรมดาที่เมื่อก่อนแทบจะไม่สนใจเลย ส่วนอีกมุมนึงก็ยังรู้สึกไม่ชอบในหลายๆเรื่องที่อยากให้ได้รับการพัฒนาสักที เกิดเป็นความรู้สึกทั้งรักทั้งเกลียดในเวลาเดียวกัน มันทำให้นึกถึงคำพูดของ ฌอง ฌาค รุสโซ นักเขียนและนักทฤษฎีการเมือง ที่พูดว่า มนุษย์เกิดมาเสรีแต่ทุกหนทุกแห่งอยู่ในพันธนาการ (Man is born free and everywhere he is in chains.) ดิบ (Raw) มันคือพันธนาการที่แห่งความจริงโดยไม่ปรุงแต่ง.

After 2 years in New York, I had a chance to fly back to Thailand for a month. I saw home in a different perspective. I think part of it was I grew up and living abroad has broadened my prospective tremendously. I saw things I never cared to look at and beauty in the most mundane things in life back home. Nevertheless, I saw what I hate in those things as well. It’s like I have this love-hate relationship with it. As for the name, “dip” is a pronunciation of a Thai word that means “raw,” “a cold hard truth,” which is, to me, a perfect word that captures my work. It a story of life and truths about Thailand in my perspective.
