Who still remember this moment besides myself? I was 19 then, honoured to be the first female flag bearer for Malaysian contingent at the London Olympic Games opening ceremony.🇲🇾 I have no idea where to look or that my team are a little bit behind because I walk too fast, all I know was that I have to hold the flag straight and high, and at the same time put my heart in the right place.
2 weeks later, I was the first female Olympic medallist for my country.🥉
I'm grateful to be given many opportunities to represent my country, platforms to showcase my talent, and chances to make my country proud. Thank you Malaysia! #momennegaraku

呢句說話由一位藝術家前輩同我講, 我以後無論創作定做任何事都會記住。
垃圾令人反感, 我地嫌佢污糟將佢棄置暗角, 眼不見為乾淨, 但又有幾多人會反思其實呢啲垃圾係由我地而來?
無諗過遺棄海底既漁網都可以係畫廊展出, 從而製造一個機會比平時避之則吉既人去正視呢個環境問題。
當身邊既人取笑我做既野無謂, 唔了解甚至睇唔起我重視既事, 我會更加記得點解我需要堅持落去。可能我做既作品同文字好稚嫩, 但每個人都要從某一個地方開始, 最重要既係一直做落去唔好放棄。
我希望藉住我既作品，可以同你分享我同一班潛水員義工點解要咁搏命跳落海底清走一噸又一噸既鬼網。
展覽場地: 灣仔香港藝術中心4樓包氏畫廊

An artist mentor once told me, "We don't need artists to make art about protecting the environment." It really shook me to hear and I will always keep that in mind no matter what I do in the future.
We are naturally repulsed by the sight or even the idea of trash, but does anyone ever reflect that these rubbish originated from us? I never thought that I could drag the ghost nets from the bottom of the seafloor to a reputable gallery, a chance to confront many who would otherwise choose to turn a blind eye to the urging problem of our ocean.
When people around me teased me for wasting my effort for nothing, and even despised me for for outspoken, it reminds me exactly why I need to persist. My words and my artwork may be immature, but everyone has got to start from somewhere, and all that matters in the end is whether you can keep pushing through the waves.
Thanks to the exhibition opportunity, I am eager to share with you personally the reasons why a bunch of passionate divers and I would volunteer to jump into the ocean over and over again to retrieve tonnes of trash and nets to keep our blue planet clean.
