Foods that can cause bad breath
It is a known fact that bad breath repels people. What kinds of foods cause us to have a bad breath? To avoid unnecessary awkward moments, do not consume the following before going on a date or meeting clients.
🤭 Raw garlic
During Korean barbecue, we tend to eat barbecued meat, kimchi, and raw garlic that are wrapped in leafy greens. No doubt it tastes good, but the raw garlic can leave a pungent smell in our mouth because there is allicin sulfide in it.
🤭 Raw onion
If there are raw onions in the sandwich, hotdog, or salad we eat, we experience a sharp pungent taste when we chew on them. This is because a variety of Sulphur compounds in the raw onions would interact with the bacteria in the mouth to initiate a chemical reaction, which tends to give out an unpleasant odor.
🤭 Milk/cheese
Milk and cheese are high in protein, and can produce a sour ammonia taste in the mouth that is equivalent to a bad breath.
🤭 Fried foods
Chinese Medicine believes that eating fried and oily foods regularly can cause damp heat to accumulate in the stomach and the intestines. When the digestive function is disrupted, the smell from the digestive organs might fill the oral cavity, causing bad breath.
🤭 Coffee and alcoholic beverages
Both the caffeine in coffee and alcohol have diuretic properties, and they can cause the mouth to become dry. The lack of saliva will encourage bacterial growth, and this can cause a bad odor to develop in the mouth.
When bad breath lingers after eating certain foods, we should drink warm water, warm sugar-free lemon juice, or green tea. If the condition persists, consult licensed and registered Chinese medicine practitioner.

Second order in a week! Cos the first round I ordered too little leafy greens, this time, I doubled the quantity. 🥰 Yes, for all my meals, greens is a must, same goes to meat! That’s how I get my balanced meal and a happy bowel 💚
Btw, the fresh vegs are 𝘽𝙐𝙉𝙉𝙔 𝘼𝙋𝙋𝙍𝙊𝙑𝙀𝘿! 🐇 Bubble is definitely one fussy eater, he don’t eat all greens offered, especially those planted by the roadside or in condo’s compound. But he love those from this seller. I’m a happy and satisfied customer 💯

‘Tamu’ means meet in the local language. And at Tamu is where people gather to sell and buy products from leafy greens to rare goods. Did you know that different districts in Sabah have different Tamu days? You can find out more on our website.
What do you usually get at Tamu?

📍 Tamu Donggongon, Penampang
Donggongon Market or locally known as Tamu Donggongon, is located in Donggongon town in the Southeastern part of Kota Kinabalu. Infact, every major district in Sabah has its own Tamu. Here's one of the many stalls you will find at Tamu Donggongon. It is a place where the locals gather weekly for two days, from Thursday to Friday; to market their produce, from farm produce to local handicrafts. With only about 10km from Sabah's capital, this place might not be on the regular traveller's list of places to visit, but this famous tamu certainly is worth while a stopover.

For this video, I headed down to Ah Hwa Roasted Noodle House to do a Dumpling Noodles Challenge! Ah Hwa Roasted Noodle House is a family-owned restaurant located at Bukit Batok that specialises in Wanton/Dumpling Noodles.
Wanton/Dumpling Noodles is a Cantonese dish that has become widespread throughout Southeast Asia, comprising of thin egg noodles tossed in a light sauce and served with wantons (dumplings), leafy greens and char siu. The addition of char siu is unique to the Southeast Asian variants of the dish. My version was served dry with soup on the side, but can be ordered as a bowl of soupy Dumpling Noodles.
At a very affordable cost of $4 per plate of Wanton/Dumpling Noodles, each plate was loaded with fried and boiled dumplings, a generous amount of char siu, bok choy and a nest of noodles coated in a dark and glistening sauce. The noodles were arguably the best part, al-dente, light and springy, and the mixture used in the sauce complemented it wonderfully with a savoury and slightly spicy flavour. I could taste sesame oil and soy sauce used in the sauce, but the owners refused to elaborate on the sauce mixture.
The dumplings were plump and had a good filling-wrapper ratio. Inside, there were chopped up prawns and bits of pork, together with some crunch, possibly in the form of chestnuts. The char siu were plentiful, but they were slightly too sweet and chewy for my taste.
I managed to complete 13 plates of Wanton Noodles at just about 30 minutes and finally did a before-and-after weighing for my challenge, gaining 5kg (66kg to 71kg). It was enjoyable, cheap food and I am pleased to support a family-owned Singaporean business in these trying times.
Head down to Ah Hwa Roasted Noodle House for a cheap and flavourful plate of Wanton Noodles!

Recipe at: http://themeatmen.sg/herbal-bak-kut-teh-cravins
A popular version of Bak Kut Teh, this is a different variant from the ones we normally have that is immersed with pepper and garlic. We used Cravins Herbal Bak Kut Teh to save time and effort, using a claypot to make this dish with ease. Boiled in a claypot and served with leafy greens, mushrooms, and fried beancurd skin (yum!), this is a delight that you can consider cooking for your family and loved ones!
