KHỞI ĐỘNG DỰ ÁN 'VIDEỒ ẠT'

"Cha chú, cô dì mình từng thử nghiệm gì với video, để lưu giữ những ký ức gì, hé lộ gì về truyền thông đại chúng và văn hoá hình ảnh bấy giờ? Nghệ sĩ Việt đang tiếp cận và quan tâm khác nhau những gì trong thực hành video? Video được sử dụng như thế nào trong các thực hành khác như trình diễn, sắp đặt... video thêm được và lấy đi những gì và các khả năng lai tạp của các thực hành cùng nhau?"

- Những câu hỏi này đã khiến Te Rẹt chọn làm điểm bắt đầu dự án, cũng như chờ đợi thêm những câu hỏi mới trong suốt hành trình.

Tháng cô hồn năm nay, đúng ra Te Rẹttttt đã ra mắt dự án 'VideỒ Ạt - Một khảo cứu về nghệ thuật video và các thực hành lai với video', chơi chữ của "video art" và "ồ ạt", cùng sự cộng tác với Nãi Cinema và sự hỗ trợ từ The Japan Foundation Center for Cultural Exchange in Vietnam. Tuy nhiên, với tình hình dịch bệnh căng thẳng, cũng như ngày ngày phải đối diện với sự thật rằng nhiều người đã trút hơi thở cuối cùng trong khoảng thời gian qua, đội ngũ Te Rẹt bỗng thấy cô vít, cô hồn hay cô đơn cũng đều đáng sợ cả, và đã quyết định rời toàn bộ chương trình 'VideỒ Ạt' sang một giai đoạn mới bớt u ám hơn, là lựa chọn tốt hơn hết cho cả năng lượng tinh thần lẫn năng lượng tâm linh của dự án.

Với tinh thần "ồ ạt", lần này được kết hợp với video art của một thành viên họ Phạm tên Tú cùng người thương Nathan Collis, ước ao kết hợp video với thực hành trình diễn một cách sâu sắc hơn của Thuỳ Anh và hứng thú với lưu trữ ký ức và hình ảnh của Vân Đơ. Te Rẹt bắt tay làm dự án này với mong muốn hiểu thêm về lịch sử thời đầu của video art ở xứ mình, đặt nó trong tương quan so sánh với những nền nghệ thuật video ở nơi khác, suy nghĩ về những tiềm năng lai ghép và đồng hành của video với những bộ môn khác, cũng như lan toả năng lượng videồ ạt cho các mầm non nghệ thuật trẻ nước nhà. Không đóng khung khái niệm video art vào một định nghĩa định sẵn, Te Rẹt xây dựng trường hiểu về video art từ chính những người đang thực hành, từ các mối quan tâm cá nhân của các thành viên Te Rẹt, cũng như trong va đập của nó với những lĩnh vực văn hoá-xã hội khác.

Thông qua các hoạt động lưu trữ, viết lách, xuất bản ấn phẩm, trình chiếu, trao đổi, open call cho các tác phẩm mới, Te Rẹt mong có thể cùng nhau và cùng các bạn đào sâu vào lịch sử và các tiềm năng của ngôn ngữ video art và hình ảnh động.

Te Rẹt là một tổ hợp các nghệ sĩ trẻ không màng tới hình thức và phương tiện, với tinh thần trong sáng, nghịch ngợm, có gì làm gì có nấy làm nấy, dám nghĩ dám quất.

Te Rẹt chỉ có vài thành viên, đếm trên đầu ngón tay. Mỗi thành viên "te rẹt" một kiểu - người làm video, người trình diễn, người viết, người ngủ, người nặn tò he, người chiếu phim, người vớt bèo, người làm đám cưới, người design, người nghiên cứu. Nói chung không có ý hướng gì cụ thể ngoài việc cổ vũ nhau cứ tuôn trào phun ra sòn sòn khi có thể. Cứ mỗi kỳ trăng lên, một trong mấy đứa này lại tuôn ra một cái gì đó và cứ thế những đứa còn lại vỗ tay hưởng ứng và nếu thấy nhiệt quá thì nhào vào làm cùng.

A_LIVE PASS kicks off with the comedy rock performance --- 88balaz!

88balaz is a four-piece rock band from Taipei with Blues rock as their base. They often include percussionists and accordionists in their live shows. Though the music is full of punk energy and distortive guitar elements, it hides delicate ideas and crashes into your heart directly. The band continuously tours Taiwan, Japan, China, the U.S., and Southeast Asia. 88balaz has won several music awards in Taiwan, including Best Album, Best Band, and Best Live Performance. In 2021, they won Best Band at the Freshmusic Awards from Singapore.

88balaz believes that live performance is the essence of music. It is the most direct way to communicate with the audience, so they dedicate more time to performing live shows than producing music in the studio. In the unique structural environment of YuChen, which was once an old cinema, 88balaz shared that if they were a movie, they would be a road film adapted from a musical comedy show. In addition to humor, they would also have scenes of car chases and terrorist-catching armies. Each plot demonstrates the rich touring experience and life attitude of 88balaz.

Fashion trends change really fast, and just like waves, they come and go. No matter how the fad goes, we are still playing the same music, doing the same dance, and telling the same old jokes. This is perhaps what would be called out-of-date. If you do the same thing for five years, people will laugh at you for not advancing. But if you do the same thing for ten years, you will turn into whiskey; for twenty years, you might eventually elevate into an X.O. So to all the people I love and friends: “Please Drink Me Up.”
