I sat by the phone for hours…
Rejection after rejection. No after no.
And then I got on the phone with this guy...
“Dan, you can’t even speak English properly. How in the world are you going to write me good Copy?! I think you’re scamming me.”
*Slam*
I couldn’t take it anymore.
I already knew my English sucked.
But this was the last straw...
I hid my face in my hands with complete shame and embarrassment.
I felt like a complete failure.
And as I relived the call, a spear pierced straight through my heart...
Broken. I felt like giving up.
Perhaps you’ve felt this way before too. Rejection and failure can really cut you up inside.
But knew I had to keep on going...
I had to look after my family. I had to take care of my mom.
And through it all, here’s what I realized…
Failure Is Simply Feedback.
When you fail at something, it doesn’t mean you're a failure.
It just means you’re missing an important piece of the puzzle...
Maybe you need more practice.
Maybe you need to adjust your approach.
Or maybe you just need more context.
Whatever it is that you’re missing, it’s not the end of the world.
There’s always a way for you to go get it.
And so that’s what I did.
After that guy slammed his phone on me, I decided to myself.
“I am going to do whatever it takes to make sure that NEVER happens again.”
So I joined Toastmasters to become a better communicator and speaker.
I started reading all the books I could on communication and sales.
And I started to record my sales calls so I could see where I was going wrong.
And that’s when it happened...
I started getting clients. I started gaining confidence.
And best of all, I was providing for my mom the way I always wanted to.
So what can you take away from this story?
Never Let Your Results Bring You Down.
Just because you’re not getting the results you want now, doesn’t mean you won’t get them in the future.
And when you feel like quitting the most, you’re usually about to make your biggest breakthrough.
Keep learning and keep growing.
Now, that’s why one of the things I highly recommend is that playing to your strengths is a big part of getting the results you want in life.

📌Internet Slang📌
You may have noticed that chatting on online forums, message boards and social media is a great way to practice your English, but all the abbreviations can be a little confusing. You probably already know what LOL and TTYL mean, but there are plenty more where they came from.
Some of the most useful are abbreviations of commonly used phrases. It’s always nice to save time typing—especially when you’re typing on your phone.
Here are some of the more common ones: AFAIC (as far as I’m concerned), AFAIK (as far as I know), ASAP (as soon as possible), ATM (at the moment) BTW (by the way), FWIW (for what it’s worth), FYI (for your information), IDK (I don’t know), IIRC (if I remember correctly), IRL (in real life), IM(H)O (in my (humble) opinion), MYOB (mind your own business), OIC (oh, I see), OTOH (on the other hand), TBH (to be honest)
Of course this is only a small sample, so TBC (to be continued).
2. TTYL:「晚點聊」,為talk to you later的縮寫。
AFAIC = as far as I’m concerned『對我而言』
AFAIK = as far as I know『就我所知』
ASAP = as soon as possible『
ATM = at the moment『現在,此刻』
BTW = by the way『順道一提』
FWIW = for what it’s worth『(用來提出訊息)不知道有沒有幫助』
FYI = for your information『(以下訊息)供你參考』
IDK = I don’t know『我不知道』
IIRC = if I remember correctly『我記得沒錯的話』
IRL = in real life『現實生活(相對網路生活而言)』
IM(H)O = in my (humble) opinion『依我淺見』,這裡的humble依上下文有時會有戲謔反諷語氣。
MYOB = mind your own business『
OIC = oh, I see『了解,收到』
OTOH = on the other hand『
TBH = to be honest『老實說』

I'm dying
for several years,
I always type with only one finger
and I never learn to type with ten fingers correctly
I can type in Chinese very quickly, but not in English at all
one week later, I'll have to take my GMAT exam.
and I'm required to write 2 essays in one hour.
that's really terrible.
I wonder whether I can finish them....
