THE SIMPSONS THAY THẾ HARRY SHEARER BẰNG DIỄN VIÊN DA ĐEN CHO NHÂN VẬT DR. HIBBERT

Series hoạt hình The Simpsons sẽ chính thức thay thế diễn viên lồng tiếng cho nhân vật Dr. Julius Hibbert. Trước đó, nhân vật này vẫn luôn được thủ vai bởi Harry Shearer. Nguyên nhân của việc thay đổi nhân sự trên là do Harry Shearer không phải người da đen giống như nhân vật Dr. Hibbert mà ông đảm nhận. Tuy nhiên, Shearer vẫn sẽ tiếp tục lồng tiếng cho các nhân vật khác là Ned Flanders, Principal Skinner và Mr. Burns.

Theo nguồn tin từ Fox – nhà đài phân phối The Simpsons, tập phim Diary Queen phát sóng tối qua là tập cuối cùng Shearer lồng tiếng cho vai Dr. Hibbert. Kể từ 28/2 tới đây, vai Dr. Hibbert sẽ được lồng tiếng bởi Kevin Michael Richardson. Trước đó, Richardson từng hai lần được đề cử giải Emmy vì lồng tiếng cho nhân vật Joker trong series hoạt hình The Batman.

Không chỉ nhân vật Dr. Hibbert, phía sản xuất The Simpsons từng tuyên bố hồi tháng 6/2020 rằng họ sẽ không để diễn viên da trắng lồng tiếng cho nhân vật da đen trong show nữa. Sự thay đổi này của The Simpsons tương tự với một series hoạt hình đình đám khác là Family Guy. Theo đó, diễn viên Mike Henry cũng sẽ ngưng lồng tiếng cho nhân vật da màu Cleveland Brown. Diễn viên Hank Azaria cũng không tiếp tục lồng tiếng cho nhân vật Apu – một người châu Mỹ bản xứ sau khi anh nhận quá nhiều chỉ trích vì không có gốc gác giống nhân vật của mình.
